COVID-19 Business Operation Safety Protocol

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing concerns regarding viral spread, we have outlined steps that Rent-A-Bit is taking as we prepare to return to full business operation. Please note, as this is a dynamic situation, our guidance may need to change.

The health and safety of all Rent-A-Bit employees and customers is our top priority. Our primary goal is to reduce the risk of contracting or spreading COVID-19 whenever possible. To learn more or discuss any concerns you may have, please reach out to your account manager or any RAB sales professional.

Employee Health and Safety Measures

  • Employees will not be allowed to return to work with symptoms related to COVID-19. The CDC list of common symptoms includes: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fever, chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, and/or loss of taste or smell.
  • An employee with symptoms who tests positive for COVID-19 will be required to alert RAB immediately.
  • If an employee has had close contact with a person infected or thought to be infected with COVID-19, he/she will be required to alert a RAB supervisor and stay home until any potential impact to the employee has passed.
  • Employees will be required to proactively self-check their temperature at home or have a temperature reading taken upon arrival to the RAB offices each day.
  • Hand washing will be required upon arrival for work and frequently throughout the day. When soap and water are not available, hand sanitizer will be provided.
  • All employees are encouraged to refrain from touching their eyes, nose, and mouth with washed or sanitized hands.
  • All appropriate measures must be taken to cover a cough or sneeze including the use of a disposable tissue or paper towel or the inside of the elbow.
  • Employees will be required to sanitize frequently touched objects including workstations, keyboards, scanners, telephones, etc.
  • We will encourage employees to use their own designated office equipment when possible.
  • While a personal touch is very important to our business relationships, we will refrain from handshaking and close personal contact with customers, visitors, and fellow team members.

Business Operation Guidelines

  • Rent-A-Bit team members will be required to wear face masks for all rental equipment deliveries or pickups. Likewise, masks will be worn when assisting customers with will call rental pickups and equipment returns to our facility.
  • Customers will be directed to our delivery entrance for will call service.
  • All rental orders must have an approved payment method on file at the time of order. This will include either approved payment terms or authorized credit card. We will no longer handle customer payments in the office.
  • Order and delivery confirmations will be completed with electronic signature. All customers will be required to confirm every aspect of their rental via our automated text/email system.
  • Field Technicians will be equipped with appropriate hygiene supplies for use during daily business travel.
  • Employees will practice safe social distancing of 6’ or greater whenever possible while on customer premises. Again, we will avoid handshaking or personal touch as well.
  • All rental equipment will be thoroughly sanitized prior to each rental and before being returned to stock at the end of each use.
  • All delivery vehicles in our fleet will be equipped with appropriate sanitation supplies for use by our team during the work day. Vehicles will also be cleaned upon return to headquarters at the end of business.
  • Our office and warehouse facilities will be cleaned throughout the day and at the end of each day. Added focus will be given to high touch areas including door knobs, faucets, public use areas including kitchen equipment and break room facilities.

Technical Services Guidelines

  • Each of our field technicians and advanced service professionals will be required to wear masks and follow our previously outlined hygiene requirements including frequent handwashing. Each will have access to appropriate supplies while on location.
  • Appropriate social distancing will be followed whenever possible.
  • High touch and high traffic areas will be sanitized after technical set up and throughout customer events to ensure the safety of our team and event guests and attendees.
  • All RAB equipment will be fully sanitized prior to arrival at the event venue. Any customer or venue equipment provided on site to be used by RAB technicians must follow similar sanitation guidelines. Rental equipment will be sanitized upon return to RAB headquarters. RAB will not be responsible for cleaning equipment provided on site.

Thank you again for your trust in us. Stay safe!
